About me
I am a current senior double-majoring in communication studies and journalism–public relations, as well as minoring in events management. I chose my majors/minor because I enjoy learning about the history of media and how it plays a big role in today's society, and I want to use my knowledge and skills to one day make an impact on media consumers. In addition to my studies, I am also the current president of the Student Council at IU School of Liberal Arts (LASC), the vice president of fundraising and events for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), and a social media ambassador for the Department of Journalism and Public Relations.
Outside of campus, I am the marketing specialist for Southeast Community Services, a non-profit organization based in Fountain Square; a private lesson music coach for middle schoolers; and sometimes a photographer for my friends' couples photos. During my free time, I enjoy photography, playing the piano/violin, listening to podcasts, binge-watching a good TV show, or exploring the city with friends.
Why I chose IUPUI
I chose IUPUI because I love the city, the opportunities that are available, and other fun activities one can find in Indianapolis.
My first college work experience
My first college work experience was as a temporary social media team member for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway during the Indy 500 season. I was able to learn about managing social media accounts for a big brand, managing customer conflicts and situations, and Indy 500 events in general.
