About Me

I am a junior in the Kelley School of Business with a double major in accounting and finance. I will be involved in the Honors College organizations and interning at BKD CPAs & Advisors in spring 2018. I look forward to using my knowledge and experiences to help design programs that will help guide students toward their career choices.

Why I chose IUPUI

I chose to attend IUPUI because of the impressive diversity of intellectual backgrounds and goals. The amazing group of schools at IUPUI made me confident in my ability to explore other career paths and to connect with my peers of various backgrounds. Why I chose to work for IUPUI is because of the Experience in Professionalism class and IUPUI's great academic community. I was involved in the former program Experience in Professionalism (now course UCOL-U 210) and knew that I wanted to help students reach and find their academic and career goals.

My first part-time job experience

My first part-time job was a day-care position at a local church in Fargo, North Dakota. I still treasure that experience and the memories that I have working with two- and three-year-olds as a teenager. My first part-time position as a college student was with the Indiana State Museum. I was hesitant at first to take the job because the position didn't seem to offer any skills that would directly transfer to my major. However, the skills I learned in communication, data management, and team dynamics helped me get future jobs that landed me a spring internship at an accounting firm.
