About Me

I am a proud alumna of IUPUI, and I am excited to now be an employee of the university. I love working in a capacity where I can directly impact the lives of people around me, and IUPUI gives me that opportunity. During my free time, I love reading and watching movies with my husband. I also enjoy taking walks with my dog (and spoiling him), visiting local coffee shops, and I’m pretty sure I would be lost without my farmers' market.

Why I chose IUPUI

When I was a student, IUPUI ended up being an easier choice than I thought. The culture of the staff and students on campus really drew me in. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and I loved that I was able to earn a degree from IU or Purdue in the community I grew up in. It also gave me the flexibility to work and to go to school at the same time. Now, as an employee, being back on campus feels like coming home. After working as a recruiter, IUPUI came back and found me with the opportunity to do everything that I love most. I have always loved the university, so it felt natural to come back and work as an employee, and I couldn’t be happier that I did.

My first college work experience

My first college work experience was at a store called United Art and Education. They sell teacher supplies, educational tools, and art supplies. At the time, I was going to school for elementary education, and I decided to work there because I felt that it would give me a good opportunity to network with teachers in the community and to learn more about some of the educational tools available. This was also my first cash-handling experience and my first taste at training others in a workplace environment.
