Our July featured student employee is Max Jacobsen, a senior here at IUPUI. Max is double majoring in forensic science and chemistry. He is currently working as a research assistant in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics in University Hospital.
Max found this position through the Life-Health Sciences Internship Program. When asked what he has learned from this position in relation to his major, Max states: “I have learned as much as a second-year medical student.” As a student employee, Max said he has learned many valuable skills, including leadership and professionalism. He shared two specific tips that have helped him manage his time to be successful as a student and an employee. He organizes his plans on a calendar and takes note of important exam dates. His supervisor, Dr. George Sandusky, said he admires Max for being such a great role model and an example to other employees and interns.
We are looking forward to learning about all the great things Max will accomplish in the Indianapolis community! Think Max’s role in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics is pretty cool? This department hires annually at the end of the summer for the upcoming academic year. Check JagJobs and the University Hospital website for more information on the opportunities they have to offer. Congratulations, Max, on being one of the #FeaturedJags of 2018!
