Our second November featured student is Erik Romer. Erik is currently majoring in sports management and working as a career development assistant for the IU School of Social Work.
As a student employee, Erik enjoys working behind the scenes. He states, “What I enjoy most about my position is the hands-on experience I get running things behind the scenes.” When asked about how his job impacts him, he replied, “This experience helps me to prepare for my future because of all of the event planning I do. I am minoring in event planning so this is a really helpful experience.”
Joan Rangel, Erik’s supervisor, has wonderful things to say about Erik and what she values in Erik as an employee. Joan explained, “Erik is very flexible. He is able to adapt to tasks quickly and put information together in a way that really helps me out.” When asked about how Erik’s position is valued, Joan said, “He has to manage a lot of different projects across eight different campuses. Without Erik, it would pretty much be impossible to do my own job.”
We are looking forward to learning about all the great things Erik will accomplish in the Indianapolis community! Think Erik’s role in the School of Social Work is pretty cool? Check JagJobs for more information on the opportunities they have to offer. Congratulations, Erik, on being one of the #FeaturedJags of 2018!
