IUPUI Student Employee of the Year

Individuals working on campus of within the Indianapolis community

IUPUI Team of the Year

Two or more students working on campus in the same department.

IUPUI Supervisor of the Year

Awarded to an IUPUI supervisor.

Student Employee of the Year Criteria

Eligibility

Nominees for Student of the Year must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a current employee with a minimum tenure of six months part time or three months full time between June 1, 2016, and May 31, 2017 (anticipated dates)
  • Work in a part-time, nondegreed position, either on campus or in the Indianapolis community
  • Be currently attending IUPUI

Your nomination letter should use concrete examples to answer the questions below and should not exceed one and a half pages in length.

  • What is your relationship to the student?
  • Why should the student be considered for Student Employee of the Year?
  • Please describe any challenges or obstacles your student has had to overcome to meet the above-mentioned criteria and to excel academically.

Please describe how the student has met or exceeded his or her job expectations in the following areas:

      • Reliability
      • Quality of work
      • Initiative
      • Professionalism
      • Uniqueness of contribution

State, Regional, and National Competitions

IUPUI's Student Employee of the Year will automatically be entered as a candidate for the state, regional, and national competitions with a chance to win cash prizes:
  • State winners will receive a certificate and check for $75.
  • The regional winner will receive a plaque and a check for $150.
  • The national winner will receive a $1,000 cash award.

Team of the Year Criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for Team of the Year, team members must meet the following criteria:

  • Be currently employed with the university 
  • Have two or more students working on campus in the same department
  • Work in part-time, nondegreed positions, either on campus or in the Indianapolis community
  • Be currently attending IUPUI

  • In what ways does the team support students' professional and personal development? 
  • How has this team's contributions made a difference in the IUPUI and Indianapolis community?

Please describe how the team has met or exceeded expectations in the following areas:

    • Professionalism
    • Cultivation of culture of inclusiveness, diversity, and service
    • Innovation

Supervisor of the Year Criteria

Eligibility

To be considered for Supervisor of the Year, nominees must meet the following criteria:  

  • Be a full-time or part-time IU employee
  • Supervise student employees as part of his or her official job description

  • Mentorship
  • Professionalism 
  • Excellence in leadership
