About me

I am an alumna of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. I was born and lived in Kingston, Jamaica, until I was four when our family moved to Toronto, Canada. I received my Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Guelph, Guelph, Ontario. I moved to the United States to work on my graduate degree in consumer sciences at Purdue. My career in higher education began after graduate school when I worked in the School of Agriculture for about 10 years as the coordinator of minority programs. I have had the pleasure with working with college students in academia (Purdue and Butler University), with a for-profit company (ADM), and with a not-for-profit (The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis) for over 20 years. During my free time, my husband and I are busy raising our son and serving in our faith community. I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, reading, traveling, sewing, gardening, and learning to just BE.

Why I chose IUPUI

When I was looking to re-enter the work world, I was looking for a place that I could use my past professional experience working with students (K through college).
