COVID-19 employment resources
Seeking a new or first position on campus?
- At this time, due to budget constraints, the university has lifted the hiring freeze for any work-study funded positions. Students who can see an “SU” or “AY 20-21” Federal Work-Study award showing in their financial view in One.IU.edu are eligible for hire at this time and can begin to search for positions.
- We encourage all students who are not work-study eligible to finalize their resumes in preparation for job searching when the hiring freeze is lifted. Need job search assistance for part-time jobs in the Indy area? We can assist you in getting started. See information here on how to schedule appointments with office staff.

IU Human Resources (HR) has worked through and continue to update policies and procedures to support university employees and university operations. It should be noted that student employees are considered temporary employees by the university. Students should stay in touch with their supervisor and refer to the Working Through COVID-19 page for updates and FAQs. Specific questions should be sent to AskHR@iu.edu.
